HBO Teases The Weeknd’s New TV Series ‘The Idol’

While on tour, The Weeknd teased his upcoming HBO series The Idol, and only a few short days after giving fans a preview at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. the official trailer is out. The Idol was created by Euphoria‘s own Sam Levinson and Abel Tesfaye and stars Lily-Rose Depp.

Plot wise, the series follows a cult leader posing as a self-help guru who forms a relationship with a pop star when things get complicated between them.

Of course, as you’d expect, there is plenty of naked bodies, lust, drug use and partying going on.

The “Sleaziest show in all of Hollywood” does not have a release date as of yet, but expect it to be one of the more highly anticipated and talked about TV shows of the year. We’re guessing it’ll probably be a Fall premiere, but HBO has yet to confirm.
