She’s staying on daytime guys, don’t worry.
With the announcement of David Letterman on his way to retirement, there has been plenty of speculation on who his replacement would be. As of now, the front-runner is Stephen Colbert, with Chelsea Handler in talks for her own late night show (not necessarily to replace Letterman), but Ellen’s name has also been in the mix.
To downplay the rumors and say she’s good doing daytime TV, Ellen gave the audience a little preview of what it would look like if she were on late night with her own spin on the format. She had a Top 11 countdown, a band leader as co-host and even had good words for Letterman after her little skit. So much that she brought out Pharrell as a surprise guest to perform his smash single “Happy” in dedication to him.
