Who you know. . . .

Last September, JAY Z signed a first-look deal with The Weinstein Company for his expansion to film and TV. Now, with his TIDAL streaming service getting its feet with original video content, as well as having the best playback quality until competitors figure out HiFi, the music mogul has revealed his first project with the indie company. JAY Z and Weinstien are planning a docuseries and narrative film about Trayvon Martin, including the events surrounding his death.

The 2012 incident made worldwide headlines, when murderer George Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges in shooting the unarmed teenager. The story will be based around two books they’ve acquired rights to: Suspicion Nation: The Inside Story of the Trayvon Martin Injustice and Why We Continue to Repeat It and Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin.

Look for possible actor and/or release date details regarding each project in the coming months.
