Jon Stewart To Leave “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central

It’s almost time to say goodbye

After news of Stephen Colbert moving on from The Colbert Report to bigger and better things (see: The Late Show on CBS), Comedy Central suffers another serious blow to their programming, announcing today that the iconic Jon Stewart will be leaving The Daily Show.

The network posted a letter on Twitter, thanking him for nearly two decades of work (he first started in 1999), sending their best wishes to him. They mentioned he will remain on the show until later this year and will always consider him part of the Comedy Central family. During his tenure at the show, he was nominated for Emmys a whopping 50 times and won 15 of them. He turned the show into a cultural phenomenon and no politican or subject was untouchable. He ripped them all.

While it isn’t clear exactly where Jon is headed next as of yet, it’s going to be tough to replace Jon on the network. Enjoy The Daily Show while it’s still on the air.
