Joseph Gordon-Levitt Stars in New “Snowden” Movie Trailer

You know you’re nervous about the repercussions about what may happen if a movie is released when you shoot it outside of the United States. That’s what director Oliver Stone did for his upcoming movie Snowden. He went to Germany to film the soon-to-be controversial project about NSA whistle blower Edward Snowden, played by none other than Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

In the trailer, you get to see how Edward got involved with the NSA in the first place (an Army Reserve injury caused him to serve his country in the form of the CIA). But when he gets there, he finds out the government is doing things they shouldn’t so he forms a plot to expose the info so Americans are informed about their tactics.

The movie also stars Shailene Woodley (as Snowden’s girlfriend), Zachary Quinto and Melissa Leo (as documentary filmmaker Laura Poitras). It will hit theaters nationwide on September 16.
