Kendrick Lamar “I AM” [Documentary]

This one’s for Compton

Throughout Kendrick Lamar‘s career, he’s never been shy about representing his city of giving back to the community that helped raise him. He’s invited plenty of people to those Centennial High hallways, walked through the county buildings where he used to go with his family and told stories through his songs about a day in the CPT.

Thanks to Reebok, he pays homage to Compton again, narrating the story of what inspired him as a kid and brought him out of the streets as opposed to staying there and dirt, walking the wrong path. In the Anthony Mandler-directed clip for I AM, K Dot kicks a verse about his hometown and takes people to ground zero, even incorporates students from the local high school to show off the skills they’re using to make it out of the hood and a better life for themselves.
