On the brink of his blockbuster release Get Hard with Will Ferrell, Kevin Hart stopped by Shade 45 for an interview on Sway in the Morning. In the midst of promoting the movie and selling out Madison Garden for three consecutive nights, the demand to see Hart is at an all-time high (see: half-a-million tickets at the gate for live shows). For many years his comedian peers have criticized him for quote-on-quote not being original with having writers help him build his show and allegedly going to comic clubs to plagiarize jokes.
Fellow comedian greats Mike Epps and Aries Spears have both been vocal on Hart over the last few months and said their reasoning for going public with their views on him at Sway’s show. After listening to excerpts from both interviews, Kev gives his perspective on the importance of self-promoting and debunking acquisitions of his stand-up comedy being stolen – citing it’s all self-based from personal experiences.
