Following the recent events of an un-named star not agreeing to star in Clerks III film, Kevin Smith has announced that new Jay and Silent film is on the way. The legendary filmmaker hit up social media, to reveal that he’s already penning a script for the project, which will be a parody film of Hollywood. Along with familiar faces returning, not named Ben Affleck, Kevin plans to end the growing trend of reboots – which he doesn’t want to see the Bluntman and Chronic franchise ruined.
He also issued a statement on the film’s initial synopsis saying, “It’s a tongue-in-cheek, silly-ass satire that pokes fun at the movie business’s recent re-do obsession, featuring an all-star cast of cameos and familiar faces.” While Smith has also been pitching an official Mallrats series to various networks, he’ll shift complete focus to getting a possible production green-light this summer.
