Meet Arjan Roskam, the undisputed king of weed. He’s been breeding some of the best strains in the world and turned into a corporation, after building his own coffee shop in Amsterdam in 1992. His expertise has led him to multiple Cannabis Cup wins (38 to be exact) and he now spends his time searching for the rarest seeds in the entire world. Not only does he have a library of seeds, but he grows, develops and breed new plants from his searches. One of his grows in Amsterdam generates about 6 TONS a year.
In this documentary, VICE follows Arjan to Colombia on an expedition, where he and his crew search for three of the best strains ever cultivated: Punta Roja, Limon Verde and Colombian Gold. Through dangerous guerrilla territory in the jungles, hikes through deserted mountains trails and after hours of traveling, the group strike gold and find thousands of weed plants growing wild, with exactly what they were looking for.
