You won’t be catching Lonzo Ball in Big Baller Sneakers any time soon and by the sounds of it, he didn’t even want to play in them when things were going good with the company.
In a talk with Josh Hart’s Light Hearted podcast, he told his New Orleans Pelicans teammate that he suddenly played good when he wasn’t wearing them anymore and during his rookie Summer League campaign, the shoes only lasted a quarter because they exploded on him.
“Them ZO2s I was playing in, they was not ready. If you literally had my shoes from those games, they just like exploded, bro.
I had to debut ’em, we had already gassed it, we went so far with it. Like, I could get a quarter in but that’s it, we had to switch ’em every quarter. And it’s crazy because as soon as I switched my shoes, it’s like magically I got good again.”
