Nearly 18 months ago, Netflix and Marvel upstarted their own Universe, featuring four characters: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. With each of the New York City-based heroes getting their story told in that time, Marvel wanted to combine them for The Defenders.
The show takes place exactly after the events of Iron Fist, as they team up to hopefully defeat a common enemy, The Hand. So far, initial reviews and reactions to miniseries have been mostly mixed – leaning towards negative. We’re assuming this is because of high expectations for the characters involved and a large Netflix budget – so many could be let down. With Summer Slam and HBO Sunday on the horizon this weekend, we may wait to binge throughout next week.
