Contrary to reports earlier today, MTV will not be shutting down TRL. The revival is actually doing well and the network plans to expand the show by this summer.
MTV network president Chris McCarthy told The Hollywood Reporter that there will be three versions of Total Request Live by June, one of which will be coming on in the morning and one late at night. Total Request Late-Night and Total Request A.M. will be a big part of the programming on top of the flagship program, which will still feature interviews, live performances and music videos in a two-hour time block.
Keep an eye out for more announcements from MTV concerning TRL in the coming months. Things look to be on the upward swing for the show.
