NBA Will Ban the Adidas x YEEZY Basketball Shoe This Season

Kanye West and Adidas are planning to drop their first basketball sneaker soon and the NBA isn’t having any part in it. The league is slated to ban the first-ever shoe because of it’s reflective material on the heel and gleam.

According to NBA rules, it doesn’t violate the color restrictions, but they have a problem with the reflective nature of the sneaker with “3M” on the panel of the heel because it could cause distractions for spectators in the arena and television viewers at home.

The news doesn’t mean the shoe is banned completely. Athletes will be still be able to wear alternate version of the first YEEZY basketball sneaker.

They just can’t wear the shoe in its current form.

As of now, the NBA has to approve silhouettes at two points in the season, those which are submitted by shoe companies before the season. The first-ever basketball YEEZY has not been submitted as of yet, but has gone through multiple iterations and has been in development for three years.

With players like like Donovan Mitchell, Brandon Ingram, John Wall, and Kelly Oubre Jr. sponsored by adidas, they could be some who potentially wear them on the court.
