Netflix Releases Official Trailer for ‘Top Boy’ Reboot

A few days ago, the Netflix reboot for Top Boy announced a release date of September 13, after rumors were swirling that the series would return in the fall. Fans of the British gang drama, which is executive produced by Drake, will run 10 episodes for Season 3 and finds Kane Robinson (aka Kano) and Ashley Walters back in their roles for Sully and Dushane.

As we can see from the trailer, there is plenty of violence, turf wars and street-related power moves brewing as Dushane comes back home to London to reposition himself as the drug kingpin. Jasmine Jobson, Simbi Ajikawo (Little Simz), David Omoregie (Dave), and Shone Romulus will all star in the upcoming season.

Netflix had this to say about the plot in a statement:

“The new episodes pick up as Dushane (Ashley Walters) returns from exile to his home in London to reclaim his throne in the highly lucrative drug market. He teams up with Sully (grime MC Kano), his spiritual brother, partner and sometime rival who is also returning to the same streets after his own form of exile – prison – comes to an end. Awaiting them both is Jamie (Micheal Ward), the young, hungry and ruthless gang leader whose ambitions leave no place for Dushane and Sully.”

Music composition will be handled by Brian Eno and Michael Asante with with Drizzy on board, you know the soundtrack will be good.
