Nicki Minaj, Always in Control

As Nicki Minaj gears up for her next commercially-released major single, the YMCMB rapper-singer is nearing the home-stretch of her upcoming untitled fourth studio album. The project, which is set to be her first full-length effort since 2014’s The Pinkprint, is now being finalized this fall in Miami.

This week, T Magazine of The New York Times caught up with Ms. Minaj, as she spoke about her creative freedom for the effort. In past months, she’s proclaimed the project as her best work to date and even believes she has a single that will be bigger than Anaconda.”

Take a look below at Nicki speaking on her long-awaited album and photos from the shoot.

“It took a long time to get to that place. Sonically, I know what the album’s about to sound like. I know what this album is gonna mean to my fans. This album is everything in my life coming full circle and me being truly, genuinely happy. It feels almost like a celebration. The last album, ‘The Pink Print,’ was almost like my diary, closing the chapter on certain things and not knowing if I was happy or sad about beginning new chapters. I was really writing about feeling unsure. Now, I can tell you guys what happened for the last two years of my life. I know who I am. I am getting Nicki Minaj figured out with this album and I’m loving her.”
