Nigel Sylvester Talks Queens Childhood and His Come Up in BMX

Sometimes you have to make your own way to the top when there might not be a way. Your parents may not agree with decisions you make, you might not even know if there will be light at the end of tunnel, but you try anyway and give it every ounce you got.

That’s how Nigel Sylvester became a professional BMX rider. Straight out of Queens, he sits down with VICE Sports to speak on his rise up the ranks, talking about how he would get hand-me-down bikes as a young’n, what his mom thought when he dropped out of college to pursue his career and he even meets with homies from the old neighborhood that he remembers riding with back in the day.

Get to know Nigel in the video and why he persevered as much as he did thanks to his mom.
