The Nike Basketball department took a lot of time and patience designing the 9th installment of Los Angeles Lakers veteran Kobe Bryant’s signature sneaker collection.
Due to Kobe’s very serious left Achilles’ tendon tear late in the 2012-2013 NBA Season, the Nike Basketball design team knew it was going to be a major task making a shoe that would best suit the All-star guard for the new season coming off the injury.

Today at the The Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, Nike unveiled the new Kobe 9 Elite, which has sneaker heads all over the world giving mixed reviews. As always, the Nike Basketball design team found ways to revolutionize the basketball footwear game, lacing Bryant up with his second hi-top model since his 2007 Kobe III. The new silhouette caters to KB’s injury and also features the popular Nike Flyknit technology as well as Flywire and Lunarlon which keeps the shoe very light and helps give the best on-court experience.
The Kobe 9 Elite “Masterpiece” colorway will be hitting select retailers and the Nike online shop February 8th 2014. Check out detailed images above.
