Quentin Tarantino is Planning to Make ‘Star Trek’ an R-Rated Film Series

A few days ago, it was revealed that Quentin Tarantino had pre-empted his retirement to help J.J. Abrams develop the next Star Trek. Well, Deadline has shared some key information on what type of direction the film will possibly have. After meeting with the writers group, Tarantino is pitching an idea to shift Star Trek into the R-Rated realm, despite its previous reboot being PG-13.

At the moment, Paramount Pictures has apparently agreed to his request of the rating, as Mark L. Smith (The Revenant) will become the lead writer. As Tarantino also creates his Manson family film of 1969, we’re wondering how much freedom he’ll have with evolving Star Trek. This also almost guarantees we’ll see Samuel L. Jackson have a role, as well as saying “motherfucker.”
