Quentin Tarantino Delays Retirement to Develop Next ‘Star Trek’ with J.J. Abrams

Tarantino heads to Star Trek U!

It looks like Quentin Tarantino is delaying his retirement. This week, J.J. Abrams confirmed that the he and the legendary filmmaker are planning to assemble a Star Trek studio at Paramount.

If you were wondering, Abrams will still remain producer, director and writer for 2019’s Star Wars: Episode IX. However, as of right now, J.J. revealed with media outlets, that Tarantino has plan to direct the next official project for Star Trek; which hasn’t been given a release window.

Last year, the studio had the under-performing Star Trek: Beyond roll-out, which starred Justin Lin, as they’ll now look to Chris Hemsworth to star in the fourth film for this rebooted franchise. Given his history with the Star Trek series, we’re curious what type of tone and severe changes he’ll make to the series – which could make or break its future in the box offices.
