‘Spawn’ Reboot Director Gives Update on Filming & Release Window

Filming begins early next year!

With the exception of Black Panther and Deadpool 2, one of our most anticipated comic films for next year is the upcoming Spawn reboot. Details for the project have been extremely limited, as director Todd McFarlane gave an update on the movie. In an interview at New York Comic-Con with Deadline, McFarlane confirmed that production for the film should begin shooting in early 2018.

While a release date hasn’t been shared, McFarlane said the project is set to only have a budget of $10 million; which could be a blessing in disguise to rid out non-believable CGI (Peter Parker, Sup?).

At the moment, McFarlane is currently shopping the film to movie studios; and is still planning to have full financial control over the project. In a post on Facebook, he went to say, “We don’t need your input, we don’t need your cash, we don’t need your creativity—and they don’t like those deals.”

After completing the script just last year, look for a possible teaser to emerge next summer.
