Drink and rap
If you’re the type to drink Sprite out here and you love rap music, the two are merging worlds in a new campaign titled “Obey Your Verse.” The company is adding specific lines from artists like Drake, Nas, Rakim and The Notorious B.I.G. to limited edition cans and bottles, most of which are classics we’ve enjoyed throughout the years. Drizzy, Nasir and the God MC will all get five lines each, while Biggie will only see “lyrically, I’m supposed to represent” from the timeless “One More Chance” single, in the campaign.
The new advertisement is nothing new to Sprite. They love adding hip-hop to their repertoire and have done so since the ’90s. Check out some of the cans with lyrics below, plus the full list of songs and lyrics that will be added. Will it make you buy the soda more often?
