Starz Moves ‘POWER’ to Sundays & Releases Official Season 3 Trailer

POWER moves to Sundays!

Ahead of its upcoming season three premieres of POWER and Survivor’s Remorse, Starz is officially jumping in the Sunday night ring to challenge HBO, Showtime and other major networks. Starz CEO, Chris Albrecht, has announced today that his network will premiere both previously mentioned original series this July 17th – which the two will leave Saturday’s for their junior seasons.

With each show garnering strong DVR performances over the last two years, it’ll luckily avoid juggernauts like Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and Scandal for the time being.

Instead, it’ll go head-to-head with HBO’s Ballers and The Leftovers, as well as Showtime’s Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. Following rumors of CBS potentially acquiring Starz last March, the network quickly re-branded themselves with riding away subsidiary Encore name from existence.

Hopefully this move helps them establish a new audience, ahead of upcoming original dramas The One Percent and Havana Quartet.
