Taylor Swift Explains How JAY Z Helped Her Reconcile with Kanye West

Ms. 1989 plays Plays the Word-Association with Vanity Fair

At the age of 25, Taylor Swift is arguably the most popular musician on the planet, as her 1989 album approaches diamond certification – something rare in the music industry. The tri-state based popstress is almost at the mid-way point of her The 1989 World Tour and took some time to have a sexy photo shoot with Vanity Fair.

While featured in the new September issue for the publication, Taylor revisited the most awkward moment she endured through her career thus far, when Kanye West interpreted her 2009 VMA acceptance speech. Swift went to touch on how her real-life friendship with JAY Z has helped lead to the two reconciling any issues from their past rift, which she’s even teased whether or not the two have plans to hit the studio.

After you take a look at the Mario Testino-photographed shoot above, take a look at the London cover story pulled quote below, as well as her word association behind-the-scenes clip.

“I feel like I wasn’t ready to be friends with [West] until I felt like he had some sort of respect for me, and he wasn’t ready to be friends with me until he had some sort of respect for me—so it was the same issue, and we both reached the same place at the same time,” Swift says. “I became friends with Jay Z, and I think it was important, for Jay Z, for Kanye and I to get along. . . . And then Kanye and I both reached a place where he would say really nice things about my music and what I’ve accomplished, and I could ask him how his kid’s doing.”
