Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Producing FOX Comedy Inspired by WWE Career

Stay tuned for the Rock’s new series on FOX!

After being named the world’s highest paid actor earlier this year, as well as upcoming films Baywatch and Jumanji looming for 2017, Dwayne Johnson isn’t forgetting where he came from.

The Rock is set to produce a TV comedy with FOX inspired by his wrestling career for WWE – which he coincidentally will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut next month at Survivor Series.

The Miami native is set to team up with Will Ferrell for the network comedy, as it will draw inspirations from his real-life experiences outside of the ring and the love/hate relationship with former WWE writer Brian Gerwitz. Take a look at a brief synopsis of the upcoming series below and let us know in the comments if you’re interested in the show.

The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional professional wrestling outfit and chronicles the one-of-a-kind odd couple relationship that develops between a charismatic young character, like the The Rock, and a painfully awkward comedy writer new to the world of wrestling. A fish-out-of-water among all of these alpha males, this beta former sitcom writer needs as much help as he can get navigating the extremely passionate, sometimes crazy and always unpredictable world of professional wrestling.
