5 Things We Didn’t Like About Lifetime’s “Aaliyah: The Princess of R&B”

Puffy's Fourth of July Party

Her Family & Friends Weren’t Involved

Last June, when we first found out Aaliyah’s immediate family members were not involved, we had early signs of trouble ahead. With an official disapproval from her parents and brother, the Aaliyah: More Than a Woman fabricated biopic was already losing credibility in the public eye.

Not only was her family not involved, but those who had personal relationships and worked closest with her were not asked to participate as well – which rubbed everyone the wrong way. With Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Dame Dash, JAY Z, R. Kelly and Ginuwine not even allowed to give their two cents on their fallen friends project, the movie we were shown last night was an exact replicate Lifetime deserved.
