The hype is real. HBO’s Westworld premiered this past Sunday and managed to draw 3.3 million viewers, more than Game of Thrones and True Detective in their debuts. If that translates into mainstream success remains to be seen, but so far so good.
For those who don’t have HBO and want to watch the first episode of the sci-fi series, this is your chance. The network has made the series premiere available for anyone, all you have to do is enter your email address and date of birth (if you’re not old enough, you’re going to have to lie to kick it).
We’re telling you right now: the show is very weird and trippy. It follows robots who are in a dream world alongside human clients, who fulfill their every desire.
Of course, things don’t go so smoothly for the engineers after a robot update. But you can watch what goes down for yourself now if you can find an hour to spare.
