Watch Michael K. Williams “New Jersey Drive” Episode of Black Market

VICELAND has been producing plenty of shows that we’ve kept our eye on. One of the more anticipated ones we’ve been wanting to watch is Michael K. Williams’ Black Market.

In the series, he explores why people do the things they do and looks to figure out how things can change, if that’s even possible.

For the debut episode “New Jersey Drive,” he heads down to Newark, New Jersey to talk to some of the notorious car jackers from the city. He digs deep into the psychology behind the people committing these acts and why it has become a phenomenon in the city. Most say they have no choice than to steal cars because it’s their means to eat and when the local government doesn’t have programs for kids to get into to stay out of trouble, that’s when you get teenagers joyriding and earning easy money.

The episode is dedicated to Ronald B. Christian, who was found dead at his church last year. He also appears in the episode and talks about the problem in Newark and Michael names him as a key figure in his life that helped make him a man.
