Although he will not get the chance to see his acting debut, fans can catch a glimpse of what to expect from Pop Smoke in the trailer to Eddie Huang’s upcoming film Boogie.
The movie is about a Chinese high school basketball player named Alfred “Boogie” Chin (played by Taylor Takahashi) from Queens, NY that faces challenges like on-court rivals like Monk (played by Pop). Smoke also wants has dreams to make it to the NBA in the coming-of-age film.
As you can see from the trailer, Pop’s song “Got It On Me” also plays in the background of the trailer and the soundtrack (featuring new music from him) will be out via Victor Victor Worldwide and Republic Records.
Boogie hits theaters worldwide on March 5 via Focus Features.
