Considering the climate of music right now and the fact Lil Peep just died from alleged drug overdose, everyone has been coming out of the woodworks to talk about this generation of rap and how much drugs are glorified in today’s generation.
Pete Rock and Waka Flocka got into it online thanks to comments that Flockaveli made about the older generation of rappers not helping the new generation or saving rap the way they were supposed to. He says this caused the kids coming up to be the way they are.
Smokepurpp also called out Russ for his thoughts on drugs in today’s music and it seems like there are two sides of what’s going on right now.
21 Savage is one of the biggest artists in rap right now and he had a message for the OG’s in the game. He says drugs have been rampant in the streets since the ’70s and that the older heads are using this generation as a scapegoat for what’s happening.
Do you agree with what 21 is saying or do you think it’s the responsibility of the artists to not continue portraying that side of the coin to the kids who look up to them? Is rap just a reflection of the streets?
