A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Adrian Younge have joined forces as The Midnight Hour, who will release a self-titled album on June 8th. The first single “Question” featuring CeeLo Green is out today, which you’ll recognize from being sampled on Kendrick Lamar’s “untitled 06 | 06.30.2014.”
“It is a joy to create The Midnight Hour with our friends who were willing to take the musical journey with us to make something special that is a departure from the status quo,” they told Rolling Stone. “The Midnight Hour represents the black idiom in regards to jazz, hip hop and cinematic soul for a new generation.”
The album consists of 20 tracks, with features from Raphael Saadiq, Luther Vandross, Bilal, Marsha Ambrosius, Eryn Allen Kane, Questlove, No I.D., James Poyser, Ladybug Mecca and many others. Check out the tracklist below:
