The first track on Allan Kingdom‘s Northern Lights was smart for two reasons. One: it references Kanye West’s “Drive Slow” in the hook, shortly after working with Yeezy on “All Day.” Two: it comes before the intro track “The Forest,” which rounded things up nicely before getting into the next chapter of his career.
“The Ride” is the latest track from the project to get a video. Directed by Ben Hughes and Allan Kingdom, the visual takes place in his home of Minnesota, and finds Allan everywhere from up at the U.S. Bank Stadium to riding in red Porsche to flying high in a hot air balloon.
His line “So now I’m bout to take you high as ever” is true indeed.
