Anderson .Paak Explains His Influences in Music As an Artist

Off top, the upcoming Word is Bond documentary on SHOWTIME looked dope. The hip-hop film, which premieres on February 16, will feature appearances from Nas, J. Cole, Styles P and more. Anderson .Paak is also making an appearance on the doc, with the network releasing a clip of him in his element and talking about some of the influences he had early on. He actually thought he was going to be a gangsta rapper because of growing up listening to Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, but life took him on a different path. He mentioned Radiohead was also a huge influence on him early.

Anderson actually looks at things from a drummer’s point of view, so cadence and tone is very important to him, more so than melody.

We can’t wait for the new album.
