You may or may not know who Anik Khan is right now, but the Queens rapper (he moved from Bangladesh to New York at the age of four) is making major strides at the moment. It was just last year that he released his debut EP titled I Don’t Know Yet.
VICE caught up with Khan for a new segment, which shows footage of him performing in Brooklyn, working in the studio and taking a trip around his neighborhood of Astoria. “It was never cool to be Indian, or Bengali, or Pakistani,” he says in the above clip. “We didn’t really have anybody in the mainstream media really holding us down.”
