Apple Music Surpasses 50 Million Subscribers

Just in February, Apple Music announced that they had 36 million subscribers to their name. They kept growing at a faster rate than Spotify in the U.S. and were growing in strength. Now, three months later, they have hit the 50 million mark.

Most of the subscribers are actual paid consumers, but some are accounted by the free trials.

Spotify currently has 75 million subscribers worldwide, so Apple Music trails the platform by a bit, with their stronghold growing by the month.

Apple is moving more into the original programming aspects to grow its reach, with shows like Carpool Karaoke, documentaries with artists and Planet of the Apps. They also have a morning show with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon as well as other TV industry veterans, including a Steven Spielberg‘s reboot.
