Remember when these two were on top of the R&B/Rap game collaborating on multiple songs for Murda Inc? Things have changed drastically for Ashanti and Ja Rule since then, but no love has been lost.
The duo are back to the soft records more than a decade after their chokehold on the charts thanks to the upcoming Hamilton mixtape. On “Helpless,” Ashanti takes the role of Eliza from the musical, while Rule is Alexander Hamilton. The two reinterpret the song, which was originally composed with the Murda Inc. combo in mind.
The Hamilton Mixtape is due out in stores and digital on December 2.
