Big K.R.I.T. Interview With The Breakfast Club

Welcome to planet Cadillactica

With his new album Cadillactica officially in stores and iTunes today, Big K.R.I.T. made a visit to The World’s Most Dangerous Morning Show, The Breakfast Club. During the conversation, he opened up on the creative process behind the project (and its sample clearing), revealing he’s going back in time essentially as a prelude to his 2012 debut opus, Live from the Underground. After explaining the Cadillac on the original album and its significance to his sound, the Mississippi rapper discussed his production background that started on a simple PlayStation generator that led to fruity loops and other cracked programs in his upbringings.

Now able afford the serial versions, K.R.I.T. discussed previously not being able to afford beats and stayed with his own sound after building his craft. Watch the full interview above touching on why he went the major route (oxymoron for the movement), his King of the South claim, appreciation for Andre 3000 and more.
