Chance the Rapper Talks Kanye West’s Studio Genius

New Chance project at the top of 2018?

Earlier this weekend, Chance the Rapper conducted a live interview on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning. During the hour-long visit, the Chicago native took live phone calls from fans, as well as talking about his music career and brother Taylor’s recent courageous moment.

In the conversation, Rosenberg managed to get a rare story on Kanye West’s chorus contributions to his Coloring Book opening track, All We Got.” He soon opened up on having a previous studio session with G.O.O.D. Music member Francis and the Lights, where he invited a vocal modification – called the music prismizer effect. Through a key board, he plays vocals through his tools and trumpets, which listeners should recognize over Chance vocals.

So, Yeezy, who had never used the method before, used a keyboard from Francis and The Social Experiment, and stripped down all the drums from the track to the vocals once.

Soon after, he freestyled, produced and sang the entire hook of the song in one setting; which blew away the mind of Chano and everybody on hand. Watch more from the interview below, where he also talks the collaborative project with Donald Glover, and much more.

30-minute mark for the story.
