Childish Gambino Announces ‘PHAROS’ New Zealand Event for New Music

Atlanta returns tonight at 10:00pm ET/PT!

This week, Donald Glover revealed official information for his next PHAROS event. The three-day festival originally debuted September 2016, which was a prelude to his Awaken, My Love! album.

Well, with Childish Gambino currently filming The Lion King with Beyonce this spring, as well as gearing up for the roll-out of Solo: A Star Wars Story in May; he’s looking to close out 2018 with some new music. Glover confirmed that PHAROS: New Zealand will go down later this year in November, with dates for his three-day festival to be revealed in the coming months.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Glover spoke on the event saying, “Pharos is meant to be a communal space—a place that evolves and reacts to the culture. We aren’t tied to a format and that lets us adapt in a way that others can’t. We’re selling real intimacy. We protect the experience and it becomes something you genuinely share with the people around you and you take away something special. We’re looking at expanding the world in 2018—there will be more artists involved.”

Tickets for the event are expected to cost $149 USD, which will also include camping areas; similar to his original experience in California two years ago. Let us know in the comments if you think Gambino will be putting out a project in the fourth quarter this year, or in early 2019.
