Longtime Childish Gambino fans will remember him releasing a five-track EP back in 2011, which was home to his huge “Freaks and Geeks” single. The project was originally available for free download, but now, Donald is putting it on streaming platforms from tomorrow (January 31st). It’s the first of many surprises set for 2018.
“Artists should never be in the position where the industry hinders their creative output,” says Gambino’s manager Wolf Taylor. “Our goal is to give our artists the ability to release content when and where they want. Partnering with Stem has allowed us to maintain our major label resources while providing us with a platform to independently release our special projects.”
Glover, who just won a Grammy for Best Traditional R&B Performance, is currently working on his final Gambino album under RCA Records.
