Unarmed black men killed at the hands of police hasn’t stopped yet, even after video showed what happened to someone like Alton Sterling. Just this week, we heard about (and saw) Terence Crutcher and Keith Scott get shot by police. For as much attention as kneeling down during the national anthem bring to the cause, it seems like these type of tragedies have become recurring.
Common has released his video for “Black America Again” in light of the situation, a powerful clip from his upcoming Nobody’s Smiling album. The track features Stevie Wonder, adlibs by Chuck D and MC Lyte, scratches by J Rock and Esperanza Spalding on bass. The video shows clips of police brutality and the reaction on everyone’s face in the clip says it all.
