In the midst of nationwide protests after more incidents of police brutality and killing of unarmed black men, more artists have come out with songs about the state of our country. Damian Lillard has gained the respect of many in the rap community and beyond with his music and he used his platform to speak change and social injustice with “Blacklist.” Though “GOAT Spirit” isn’t about reform or racism, it still carries a message, one that deals with greatness and staying humble.
