Gorillaz finally put an end to all the rumors yesterday and announced their long-awaited new album Humanz, along with sharing four new tracks, with features coming from Vince Staples, D.R.A.M. and Popcaan.
The man behind it all, Damon Albarn, caught up with Mistajam on BBC Radio 1 this week to talk about the return of Gorillaz. The Blur frontman says the “dark fantasy” of the new album came to mind at the beginning of last year. “Just imagine the the weirdest unpredictable thing happening that changes everything about the world — how will you feel on that night?,” Damon says about the concept. “Will you go out? Will you get drunk? Will you just stay at home? Will you just watch TV? Will you talk to people?”
He also talks about the way he picks collaborators and the overall rollout of the album.
