Dave East Opens Up on Nipsey Hussle and Their Joint Project

Over the summer, Dave East spit a freestyle for Tim Westwood and dedicating all of the lyrics to his late friend, Nipsey Hussle. In it, he revealed that they were doing a project together, and now he’s opened up even more about their relationship.

“We were six songs in. We were planning a tour and all of that,” he said. “Fuck rap. I’m going to keep it 100. That was my n***a. Anything we did together or anytime I had to be around that n***a, I cherish it. It’s wack he went out like that. That n***a’s a king. Kings ain’t supposed to go out like that. But, that’s the world we’re living in. It’s wack he went out like that, but it sharpened me and a million other n****s up. He went out like a G.”

In case you missed it, check out his Nipsey freestyle below. A song on his upcoming Survival album pays tribute to Nipsey, so it could well be the lyrics from this.
