Denzel Curry is having a busy year so far between touring the US with A$AP Ferg and dropping collaborations with IDK. This week, he’s back with his brand new song “Sumo,” produced by Charlie Heat and premiered by Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show.
“Me, Charlie Heat, Flatbush Zombies, Kirk Knight and Powers (Pleasant) were all in the studio in the same time making this record,” Curry says. “We were just going through beats and freestyling, and that beat came on and I was like hol’ up, don’t switch it yet, and that’s when the hook just came to my mind.”
