He starts by prefacing how he makes beats, never bringing pre-made ones to the table, always making them on the spot. That’s how he was raised and how he continues working.
As far as this track in concerned, Hov wanted to do a remix version and the two kicked down some ideas. Turns out Too $hort was in another studio cooking up “A Week Ago” and at the same time that it was all going down, that song was done.
And that’s how a classic was born.
