DJ Quik Dedicated a Visual Open Letter to 2pac

RIP 2pac

As far as producers that 2pac worked with throughout his career, DJ Quik was one of the handful of folks who got the privilege to work with the fallen rapper. The two made several West Coast classic records and were pinnacles in music on the left at their peak in the early and mid ’90s.

Before the new film All Eyez On Me and his 46th birthday is celebrated (on June 16), the legendary producer has decided to pay tribute to Shakur, by releasing a visual open letter.

Here’s what he had to say about the video:

There were so many things this man knew ahead of his time – raised with the finest of minds his progression and evolution was something we all admired – no wonder when he speaks about the trials and tribulations that plagued us then, they still apply now.
The years may have changed, but the reasons have not.

Miss you brother. RIP

If you haven’t watched this interview with Tupac, this is a good time to watch it and learn from what he was saying back in the day. The most interesting part of the interview is the end, when they asked him where he wanted to be in 10 years.

He said, ‘alive.’
