Run The Jewels, invidually known as El-P and Killer Mike, have been on the scene for a few years now and released two acclaimed hip-hop albums since forming as a duo. This week, news surfaced about Kevin Hart producing a hip-hop comedy film called Run the Jewels for Universal, and El-P isn’t too happy with it. In a series of tweets, the rapper and producer says he’s getting his lawyers involved for the use of the name.
Does El-P has a point or is the title merely a coincidence? Surely the people behind the film should have checked before deciding on the title, especially given the fact it has a hip-hop theme.
excuse me while I go starve a savage pack of lawyers for 7 days.
