Now that Elijah Blake is doing things independent, he has more freedom to do what he really wants to do. It’s been apparent in his music, which has taken a few left field turns and he’s hit us with tracks we wouldn’t expect. One example is this new “Technicolor” single, which doesn’t fit too much into the R&B lane, but more of a progressive alternative sound. The dance record certainly has a throwback ’80s vibe.
The Prince influence certainly shines through.
