Eminem Breaks Silence on ‘Revival’ Backlash, Speaks on Current Rappers

#Kamikaze

Yesterday, LL Cool J launched his new SiriusXM channel, Rock The Bells – which he wants to change the direction of radio for hip-hop. For the pilot, LL called up Eminem to discuss some rare stories in a nearly 90-minute conversation. During the chat, Em discussed his entire life timeline (condensed form) to first linking up with Fat Joe and eventually getting his music to Dr. Dre through a girl in LA.

He touched on Dre putting his career on the line to help launch the Slim Shady LP, which Marshall maintained that he was forever in debt to the Compton musician. While discussing his appreciation for LL changing his life, Em sadly believed that the current state of rappers didn’t hold him and fellow hip-hop peers of his class in that same regard for breaking barriers.

Watch more from the conversation below, where he opens up on why felt he missed his mark with music after Revival criticism – as well as redeeming himself on Kamikaze this weekend.
