First Week Sales: Macklemore’s ‘Gemini,’ Jhené Aiko’s ‘Trip’ and Kevin Gates’ ‘By Any Means 2’

The first week sales are in following the September 22nd album releases. Macklemore‘s second solo album Gemini has debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, moving 51,000 units with 27,000 of them traditional album sales. Jhené Aiko‘s surprise album Trip enters at number five with 37,000 units and 10,000 of them traditional album sales. This is her third solo top 10 following 2013’s Sail Out and 2014’s Souled Out.

As for Kevin Gates, his latest album By Any Means 2 moves 40,000 units and cracks the number four spot. Due to its September 21st release (rather than September 22nd), this is technically the album’s second week on the chart. It originally debuted at number 100 last week after one day of activity.
